It used to be that the sole purpose of the tax code was to raise the necessary funds to run government.
As you may have heard, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has a tax proposal he calls the “9-9-9 plan.”He talks about it … a lot. And he has generated a lot of attention for it.
Folks in Texas who are close to the space program were not happy from the get-go.
A record-high 50% of Americans now say the use of marijuana should be made legal, up from 46% last year. Forty-six percent say marijuana use should remain illegal. See the graph.

The doctor group questions the medical value of pot and acknowledges some health risk from its use but urges it be regulated like alcohol.
Whether Herman Cain’s surge in the polls is temporary or has staying power, he’s enjoying a big enough bounce to take a very slight lead over President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 matchup.
Yet another sign Gov. Rick Perry’s presidential campaign is facing challenges: Conservative students from his beloved alma mater are criticizing him for supporting in-state tuition rates for some undocumented students.
Unless you identify your economic enemy correctly, you cannot succeed in defeating him.
