Why I am a black Tea Party patriot opposed to Barack Obama
I’ve seen lives ruined by the welfare dependency backed by this Democratic president. We need the dignity of self-reliance. Obama was marketed as a “new” kind of politician. Here is my personal story.

You give me hope – I am so thrilled to see your point of view
I just wanted to say that the author of this story makes a powerful statement that people need to feel pride in themselves and to do that we cannot give them an hammock to lay in but a safety net to help people get back on their feet. That might be job training or temporary help until they can make a living that will help to support them and their family. I have looked in my past and I realize that I am proud of getting through the tough parts of my life. This was when I grew as a person, this is what creates pride in yourself. I really believe that most people do not want the government to make life soft for them, I believe with all my heart that government should be there to break the fall and then help us work towards getting back onto our feet. When things are made to comfortable than there is not reason to change. It creates a cycle and a mind set. Life then becomes stuck in the middle, nothing to strive for. This is the mind set for all humane beings and not to any particular race! I have seen where many men , White, Black and Latino that do not man up and do what is right for their children. They push the children and mothers into poverty by not paying their child support, not supporting their children in school or in sports. They are now so selfish that they think what they earn is theirs and to hell with everyone else. This sets up a cycle in the mind set of the children. I see allot of anger, I see allot low self esteem and I see that without a family to support them, emotionally and financially a hard future a head of them. This young man got out because he had a man that was a true father and hero and showed him what a man does, makes his life better to help make his families life better. This family is a true inspiration ! Thank you for this wonderful story.
Simple question from this white man to men and woman of color. You may second guess my motives if you like, I wouldn’t blame you, you dont know me. But just think about the question and answer it in your heart of hearts.
I am a conservative Republican. When I see a successful man or woman of color in a nice car, nice clothes and a beautiful house my immediate thought is …..”GREAT, maybe he or she is a conservative Republican”.
On the reverse. My suspicion is that when a white liberal sees a man or woman of color on public assistance they think to themselves,……. “Im sure glad he or she is a Democrat, isnt it nice what I am doing through the government to assist him or her” as they pompously pat themselves on the back for all they are doing for “those people”.
Now, of these two , whom do you think wants that man or woman of color to succeed more? I know how I answer that question!
Trust me on this much, Ive seen the racism among my own fellow white men and women and it is pervasive indeed but not within the conservatives, it exists in the liberal community by and large. It exists in the way they view your station in life. When they put their guard down it becomes self evident they are happy as long as they are the ones “helping those people” but never never never truly equal, or God forbid, in a lower socio economic station! That just wouldnt do!
Believe me if you like, or disregard it, but true white conservatives want to move beyond these color boundaries more than anyone you will ever meet in the white community.
In any event, i just wanted to thank this organization for allowing my “brothers in thought” to express themselves. Because, in my mind I am more so a brother to a conservative black man than a liberal white man.
Don,
I’m an adult Black female and I vote. My political party is irrevelant because I don’t vote for a candidate regarding his/her POLITICAL PARTY. I vote for the person who can do the job the best.
The problem in the USA is that you are more concerned about the POLITICAL PARTY and not the individual. In case you have forgotten, Abraham Lincoln was a Republican, but then again so was Richard Nixon. I think Mr. Nixon resigned. So who would you vote for? The one with good character, the one who resigned or the man who could do the job well.
PLEASE GET OFF THIS POLITICAL PARTY KICK!!! VOTE FOR THE PERSON BEST QUALIFIED TO DO THE JOB S/HE IS RUNNING FOR; THEIR POLITICAL PARTY AFFLIATION IS IRREVELANT ON HOW THEY WILL PERSONALLY AND PHYSICALLY DO THE JOB!!!
