Danger to Conservative Growth in Texas: Speaker Joe Straus & His Lieutenants

Conservatives are on a roll! Several encouraging events attest to this heartening fact. For example, a recent Gallup poll found:
• Conservatives are now the largest ideological group in America, with 40% of Americans
identifying themselves as conservative, 35% as moderate, and only 21% as liberal. 1
• Conservatives outnumber liberals in all fifty states, including even Vermont, New York,
and Rhode Island.

If we are not outnumbered, why is the government so heavy on the left? These must be newcomers to conservatism, which I understand…obviously, they did no polling at colleges and universities, b/c they are so liberal as to actually frighten the few conservatives there into silence.

In my college years at a respected university in Virginia, I took a course focused on the 2008 election; the class consisted of approximately 16 typical college libs and 4 political conservatives. The other 3-excluding myself-were afraid to voice there actual opinions because they didn’t want to rock the boat, rile up the other students. I am a proud Conservative, and spoke my views with passion. I made much more sense than the other side, knew what I was talking about, had facts about Supply-side Economics to back me up, and while I was loud and sensible, the stupid corrupt-brained libs were louder and meaner; now, I’m naturally LOUD, so this was hard to accomplish, but with their venom and disdain for any view that did not include saving the world, the other side drowned me out…and the other 3 in the class with sense remained silent.

I am so glad that the Tea Party is here, giving voice and guts to Conservatism. ^_^
