Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee never slows down, and it’s her hustle that makes her popular with some of her constituents.

Let’s not make the mistake of believing that one of these primary challengers is a viable alternative to Sheila Jackson Lee. Although they both say the right things and sound much better for the district’s constituents, the reality is that on every bill in Congress, the Democrats never buck the party line. And none of the bills proposed by the Democrats are good for their constiuents. From the healthcare bill to fine and imprison people without coverage to the Cap and Trade bill that will add $2500 per year of additional electric and energy costs to each family, the Democrats continue to be a tax EVERYONE party and that will hurt the 18th district worse than most.

The only acceptable alternative to Sheila is a CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN. The best man for that is John Faulk. Many say this is an impossible race to win. But consider that one month before the Massachusetts election, Scott Brown was down 30 points and considered just as unlikely to win. The political climate is changing as people are starting to realize the destructive Democratic agenda. And on every count, John Faulk opposes Sheila Jackson Lee’s destructive agenda. During last year’s town hall meetings, they got to see first hand just how little the Democrats really care about you. And Sheila Jackson Lee provided the signature moment by answering her cell phone while a cancer ridden constituent was asking her a question at a town hall meeting. In the last election, John Faulk ran against her and received more votes percentage-wise than any previous challenger. And he got those votes in a decidedly Obama year.

There are actually 3 conservative Republicans running for the chance to go up against SJL in the general. Of the 3, John Faulk is the least likely to defeat SJL in the general. He lost to her in the last election because of his hatred for SJL which is received very negatively by the African American community. He also uses ads with tape over SJL’s mouth. While this may be funny to Faulk, it is very demeaning to women. Faulk failed to learn from the last election that running a campaign based on hatred will not win him the election and is now running a campaign based on hatred for the Republican party as well. To win in this diverse district, he will need the votes of Republicans, Democrats, Latinos, African Americans, and women. Unfortunately, his tactics will turn the majority of those groups away even if the alternative is SJL. The best chance for Republicans to have a chance of winning in November is if we elect Tex Christopher or Brenda Page.

Queen Sheila’s district has changed dramaticly in resent years. Lots of new condo’s and young professionals along with middle class hispanic families who are 3rd and 4th generation and generally conservative. The “hood” that is her voting base has been pushed farther east by higher property taxes and development. A good friend of mine lives in her district calls her Queen Stupid jacka$$ Lee.
